Susanna Krebs, LCPC

I believe the most important component of counseling is the relationship between therapist and client. As a therapist, I strive to create a collaborative environment – one that is safe, warm, supportive, and empathic. With this foundation, we will explore together how one can grow and create positive change.

My goal is to help individuals and couples improve their lives through the quality of their relationships. Healthy, happy, and meaningful relationships take work! Whether they are romantic partners, family members, friends, or coworkers, these relationships directly affect our mental health. I can help you gain insight into your own patterns and behaviors that may be impacting how you think, feel, and act around your loved ones. I am also a firm believer in the mind body connection, and love to explore how different aspects of our lives contribute to overall wellness. With understanding and self-compassion, it is possible to cultivate deeper and more fulfilling connections!

My approach with individuals and couples is client-centered, with a psychodynamic lens. However, because each client is unique, I tailor therapy to meet a client’s individual needs and goals. In addition to being trained in Level 1 Gottman Method of couples counseling, I have experience working with adults and adolescents struggling with issues relating to relationships, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, grief and loss, life transitions, as well as clients with histories of trauma. Our process will be collaborative – I encourage clients to always come to me with questions, concerns, and any other feedback about our therapeutic process. This is your time and I want to make sure it is most beneficial for you.

During my graduate program at Northwestern University I trained at the Kenneth Young Center, Northwestern’s Family Institute, and Amita St. Mary and Elizabeth’s where I worked with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds. Before obtaining my Masters degree, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison with a BS in Consumer Behavior and a minor in Business. I’m so excited to connect with you!
