What it’s like to work with me…
I believe that therapy is a space for growth, genuine connection, and self-discovery.
In our sessions together, you can expect empathetic, active feedback and dialogue, along with practical tools to improve communication, strategies to cope, and techniques to increase emotional regulation. You'll also have the time and space to process and reflect without judgment, addressing your unique concerns and needs. My work is deeply relational, designed to leverage our therapeutic relationship to build trust and meaningful change. I also love incorporating humor and connecting with clients through shared interests and experiences, creating an environment where you can feel comfortable being yourself.
My approach is collaborative, meaning we'll tailor our work to your individual needs, drawing on a variety of therapeutic modalities such as Psychodynamic Therapy, ACT, CBT, and IFS. I guide individuals and couples—ages 18 to 55—through challenges like relationship struggles, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, grief and loss, life transitions, and histories of trauma. Whether you're focused on personal growth or strengthening your relationship, I provide a safe, supportive space where you can feel truly seen, heard, and understood on your healing journey.
Background & Experience
-
My journey to becoming a therapist began with deep introspection and a commitment to understanding my core values and beliefs, alongside recognizing my natural abilities to support others. Coming from a family of helpers, this work has always felt like a calling. Over the years, I’ve invested in my own personal growth—through therapy, mindfulness practices, and nurturing meaningful relationships—which has shaped me into the clinician I am today. These experiences have strengthened my approach and solidified my dedication to helping individuals and couples not only navigate life’s challenges but thrive in their relationships, careers, and overall well-being.
-
I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling from Northwestern University where I focused on individual therapy through a psychodynamic lens.
Additionally, I have completed Level 1 Gottman Method of couples counseling which further enhanced my expertise in helping relationships heal and thrive whether romantic or through friendships, family dynamics, and general interpersonal interactions.
-
I am a licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois.
Outside of Work
When I'm not in session supporting clients, I enjoy reading (psychological thrillers are my go-to), watching reality tv, and trying new restaurants around the city. I’m also a big fan of lakefront walks where I can find some peace in life’s chaos.
