Jamelle Apolinar, Intern
Hi - I'm Jamelle! I am currently an intern at Revive Relationship Therapy and pursuing a degree in Clinical Mental Health at Northwestern University, a CACREP-accredited program. I bring a compassionate and nonjudgmental approach to sessions and believe there are valuable lessons to learn from all of life's experiences. My goal is to create a casual and welcoming environment for my clients and walk along this journey with you!
I plan to specialize in depression, women's issues, relationship dynamics, family conflict, body positivity, and behavioral issues. I use an integrative approach, with an emphasis on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to empower my clients. Additionally, as a Filipina-American, I'm dedicated to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health within Asian American communities. In addition to this internship, I have a decade of experience working in higher education supporting individuals through their academic journey. This, among other things, allows me to bring a wealth of life experience to the table as a therapist. I am also a national-level Olympic weightlifter and strongly believe in the importance of both physical and mental strength.
