Committed Relationship Confusion
REMEMBER you have the power to change your love life.
If you’ve been in the same relationship for awhile, but you’re not sure that it’s right, you’re not alone. You’re probably feeling confused, perhaps ambivalent, anxious, maybe even bored. You’re not sure if you understand yourself or your partner, or how to move forward.
You might be asking yourself:
“Am I in the right relationship? ”
“Is my relationship healthy? Do I know what that means to have a healthy relationship?”
“Is it possible I’m asking my partner to change more than they’re willing to?”
Working to solve these problems is something we as therapists are especially passionate about helping you with. At Revive, we strongly believe that one person can be the change agent for their most important relationships – this idea can be very empowering! Sometimes clients are not sure if they’re with the right person – in fact, the longer you’re together the harder it is to tell if it’s right. Maybe it feels boring or you’re wondering why you’re starting to care less. Or maybe you are tired of justifying the relationship to family and friends. Whatever the reason for your confusion, we will help you understand and plan how to either make the relationship better or end it for good.
You will know you need to seek therapy if you feel any or all of these symptoms:
-You’ve been fighting a lot and don’t know how to fix it
-Your own mental health struggles are getting in the way of having a good relationship
-You’ve been together forever but you aren’t sure if you want to take the next step
-Your partner doesn’t treat you well but you don’t know how to walk away
-You want to communicate better but your partner will not come to therapy
Revive’s therapists are trained to help you navigate your relationship, even if it’s only you coming to therapy. We believe relationships are the crux of happiness, but the truth is that sometimes one partner refuses to come to therapy – they don’t believe in it, don’t want to invest in it, or don’t want to face demons. You can still be a change agent for your relationship by learning how you contribute to negative patterns and how to fix this.
Many of our clients have called for help with these same kinds of issues. It’s common to feel “stuck.” Let us help you gain clarity, feel confident and empowered to make changes.
